manifesto
the typography of this portfolio is directly influenced by jan tschichold’s concept, as outlined in his manifesto “die neue typographie” published in 1928. this radical approach seeks to break away from traditional typographic conventions in favor of a more streamlined and functional aesthetic. tschichold argues that the exclusive use of lowercase letters makes the text more legible and harmonious, avoiding distractions caused by uppercase letters and variations in character size. by abolishing the traditional hierarchy dictated by uppercase letters, he aims to establish visual equality among the letters, thereby promoting better readability and greater clarity in written communication.
